Performance Welding uses the finest materials in the industry.
We primarily use 18 gauge .049 tubing in either mild steel or 304
stainless steel. Our exhaust flanges are either CNC laser cut cold
rolled steel or CNC machined cold rolled steel in 5/16" thick
or 3/8", depending on availability for the particular exhaust
port configuration.
Our merged collectors are installed using lightweight spring
tabs and zinc coated collector springs. This allows the collector
to move during the extreme tire shake a high horsepower race car
can make, and allows simple removal of the collector.
Our primary tubes are welded on the backside of the flange,
then surface ground for a leak-free fit. The outside of the primary
tube is tig welded using a silicone bronze filler rod on the top
and bottom of the port. This allows the tube to flex in the exhaust
flange, if needed and not crack the primary tube. The primary tubes
are perfectly butted together at the tube joints, which enables
us to make a very small weld beads with very little to no penetration.
This allows nothing to obstruct the flow of the inside of the primary
tube.
Our stainless steel headers are purge tig welded. This is a
must when constructing a stainless steel header, or the primary
tubes will have a significant amount of penetration that will obstruct
the flow of the exhaust gasses. This is a very unfortunate and time-consuming
problem that must be addressed in a stainless header.
All primary tube entrances at the exhaust flange, from the exhaust
port exit, are fully deburred and radiused for a nice smooth transition,
making sure not to shroud the cylinder head exhaust port.
Our excellent header construction techniques allow us to provide
you with the finest profesional competition racing header in the
industry. Our superb tig welding and the quality of our materials
allow us to give you a two-year craftsmanship warranty from date
of purchase.
